Career Politicians: Irrational and Greedy

Career politicians’ are our Nation’s most irrational and greediest citizens! Yet they have convinced many of us it is those who disagree with them, big corporations, and the wealthy who are greedy. Consider the irrational and greedy actions of our politicians.

To stimulate the economy politicians irrationally:

  1. Indebt future generations. It’s done nothing. So they stimulate with more debt and quantitative easing (money printing) again and again. Money printing ultimately devalues existing money and raises inflation.
  2. Cut interest rates. It’s done nothing. So they cut rates again and again.
  3. Assume wealth will grow by borrowing and consuming, instead of by producing and saving. They use tax deductions to encouraged borrowing and consumerism. It’s done nothing. They tax producing while inflation and taxes eat away at savings and investment earnings.
  4. Propose new taxes to reduce deficits/debt and to pay for proposed new programs, but the new taxes do not cover the new program costs so deficits/debt continue increasing. Their estimates lowball program costs and highball tax income.

Nothing that the Feds or politicians have done since the 2008 global financial crisis has fundamentally changed economic conditions. Yet they keep applying the same remedies, drawn from the same old playbook. Are they irrational, stupid, or simply greedy?

To get reelected politicians greedily:

  1. Tell citizens what they want to hear rather than the whole stark truth
  2. Employ scare, seduction and misleading tactics to deceive and divide us
  3. “Kick the cost can down the road” to after the next reelection
  4. Continue to financially rape our youth and future generation with debt, and our elderly with devalued money.
  5. Increase taxes on individuals and business resulting in bigger government at the expense of economic growth and jobs. Then claim jobs are top priority.
  6. Pass legislation that maximizes their reelections chances and exempts themselves from any possible impacts.

Politicians’ greed is the root cause of our nation’s ills. Politicians have developed laws that allow themselves to legally accept bribes and favors. Corporations and the wealthy do what any of us would do, i.e., try to legally influence the politician’s decisions. So who is greedy the politicians who created the legal bribes and favors or those corporations and wealthy who take advantage of the laws that allow bribes and favors? Let’s get real and place the blame on our career politicians where it belongs before it’s too late. Become informed.
